T20 World Cup, IPL & Club Cricket Bracket Generator

Organize cricket tournaments effortlessly — from 16-team ICC T20 World Cup brackets and 8-team Champions Trophy knockouts to 4-team IPL Page-Playoff systems (Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, Final) and weekend tape-ball or leather-ball club trophies.

1

Official Rules & Match Regulations

In limited-overs cricket (T20 / ODI / 10-over tape-ball), each team bats for a fixed maximum number of overs. The team scoring the most runs wins. If the chasing team reaches the target before 10 wickets fall, they win by the remaining wickets; otherwise, the defending side wins by runs.

2

Tournament Formats & Series Types

Cricket tournaments frequently use two distinct formats: (1) Classic Knockout: Single elimination where the loser of each game is out, and (2) Page-Playoff (IPL Style): Top 2 group teams play Qualifier 1 (winner to Final, loser to Qualifier 2), while teams 3 & 4 play the Eliminator.

3

Seeding Conventions & Byes

In an ICC-style 8 or 16-team tournament, teams are seeded based on ICC rankings or group stage finishes (e.g. Group A winner vs Group B runner-up). Byes are awarded to top seeds when the draw size is not a clean power of 2.

4

Tiebreakers & Overtime Rules

Tied matches in limited-overs knockout games are resolved by a Super Over (one over per side, max 2 wickets). If the Super Over is tied, subsequent Super Overs are bowled until a winner emerges. In group stages, Net Run Rate (NRR) is the primary tiebreaker.

Game-Day Tournament Director & Scorekeeping Tips

Allow at least 3.5 hours per T20 match and 75 minutes per 10-over tape-ball match. Schedule a 20-minute innings break and maintain reserve days or DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) charts for rain-affected games.

# Frequently Asked Questions about Cricket Brackets

Q: Can I record runs and wickets for cricket matches (e.g. 195/4 vs 188/8)?

Yes! You can enter custom cricket match scores with runs, wickets, and overs directly on each match node to advance the winner.

Q: How does the IPL Page-Playoff system work?

The top two seeds play in Qualifier 1 (winner goes straight to Final). Seeds 3 & 4 play the Eliminator. The loser of Qualifier 1 then plays the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 for the remaining Final spot.

Q: Can I organize an online captains coin toss before the match?

Yes! Check out our Cricket Coin Toss Simulator to conduct fair 3D physics tosses with Heads/Tails and Batting/Bowling selection.

Q: Is this suitable for printing club scoreboards?

Yes! Download a 1-click landscape PDF formatted for high-resolution printing on club noticeboards and scoreboxes.

Q: How is Net Run Rate (NRR) calculated in cricket tournaments?

NRR is calculated as: (Total Runs Scored ÷ Total Overs Faced) minus (Total Runs Conceded ÷ Total Overs Bowled) across all group matches.
