1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting, accessing, or using BracketEngine (accessible at bracketengine.net), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our bracket generator or associated tournament tools.

2. Description of Service & Permitted Use

BracketEngine provides free, web-based tournament management software, including single and double elimination bracket generators, round-robin pool schedulers, multi-stage playoff builders, team splitters, coin toss simulators, and printable PDF exports.

  • Personal & Community License: You are granted a free, non-exclusive, revocable license to create, customize, score, display, and print tournament brackets for personal, recreational, collegiate, esports, and commercial event organization.
  • Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the service, disrupt server infrastructure, execute automated scrapers that degrade platform responsiveness, reverse engineer protected backend algorithms, or use the service for illegal gambling operations in jurisdictions where prohibited by law.

3. User-Generated Content & Saved Brackets

Users may input participant names, tournament titles, seeding scores, match statistics, and team logos into our system.

  • Ownership: You retain full ownership and rights over the tournament information and roster names you input.
  • Public Sharing & Spectator URLs: When you generate a shareable link or publish a bracket token, you grant spectators permission to view real-time scores and bracket progression.
  • Content Standards: BracketEngine reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove or restrict access to any bracket or account that contains defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene, or infringing material.

4. Third-Party Trademarks & Sports Federation Disclaimer

All trademarks, brand names, league identifiers, and federation standards mentioned on BracketEngine (including, but not limited to, FIFA, UEFA, NCAA, March Madness, USTA, USA Pickleball / USAPA, American Cornhole Association / ACA, NFL, NBA, IPL, ICC, and esports game titles) belong to their respective owners. Their inclusion on BracketEngine is strictly for factual identification, tournament format comparison, and editorial rule explanation under nominative fair use. BracketEngine is an independent engineering platform and is not sponsored by, affiliated with, or endorsed by these governing bodies.

5. Third-Party Advertising & External Links

To maintain 100% free access for organizers without charging subscription or export fees, BracketEngine may display contextual and personalized third-party advertisements served by partners such as Google AdSense. Third-party advertising networks may utilize cookies or web beacons in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We do not endorse or assume liability for third-party websites, products, or services linked from or advertised on BracketEngine.

6. Intellectual Property

The BracketEngine brand, logos, graphic design assets, vector court diagrams, software algorithms (such as non-power-of-2 bye placement math and double-elimination reset state machines), and user interface code are the intellectual property of BracketEngine. You may freely print, embed, and distribute tournament PDFs and bracket outputs generated by the tool.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

BracketEngine is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we employ rigorous mathematical testing for bye allocation, round schedules, and tiebreakers, tournament directors remain ultimately responsible for verifying bracket configurations prior to match play. We do not warrant that the service will be entirely uninterrupted, error-free, or secure from unforeseen technical issues.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall BracketEngine, its developers, operators, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to, use of, or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, tournament delays, or event scheduling disputes.

9. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to this page. Continued use of BracketEngine following any update signifies your agreement to the modified terms.
