Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about splitting teams and running fair tournaments.
How does the Random Team Generator balance odd numbers of players?
When your participant count does not divide evenly by your chosen squad size (for example, 15 players divided into 2v2 pairs), the algorithm automatically creates 7 two-player squads and 1 single-player squad (or deals the extra player into the last squad if fixed teams count is selected). You can easily fine-tune squads or assign the solo player a bye in the bracket.
Can I export the generated teams directly into a tournament bracket?
Yes! Clicking "Send to Bracket Generator" immediately loads all generated squads into our Bracket Maker. It automatically selects the optimal bracket size (4, 8, 16, 32, or 64 teams) and prepares the single or double elimination draw.
Is the team shuffling truly random and fair?
Yes. The algorithm utilizes an unbiased Fisher-Yates (Knuth) shuffle algorithm powered by cryptographic pseudo-random generation. Every participant has an equal, mathematically unbiased probability of landing on any team or paired with any partner.
Can I copy the rosters to Discord, Slack, or Google Sheets?
Yes. You can use the 1-click "Markdown" copy button to post formatted tables directly into Discord channels or GitHub discussions, or click "CSV" to paste clean rows into Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
What team naming styles are supported?
You can choose between "Epic Squads" (combines high-energy adjectives and mascots like Crimson Vipers or Apex Dragons), "Color Divisions" (Red Division, Blue Division), "Numbered" (Team 1, Team 2), or "Player Names" (Alex & Sarah).
